Outlook 2007-pst size, and e-mail function question

Issues with large size of Outlook.pst are continually seeking resolution, and
many solutions have been exercised.

Pst was broken down into different folders and Outlook restarted. I cannot
get Outlook to function fully again, in particular, e-mail --though set up
exactly the same--will not send. I welcome any suggestions.

How big is/was the PST? Also, do you receive any errors when trying to send
mail now?
