Outlook 2007 + missing body text

Jim

Hi All,

Here's an odd one.

In Outlook 2007 (SP1) I often receive messages from people and the body
text is missing, all I see are their header/footer/signature.

If you check their Sent Items folder the message left with everything
intact.

Now here's the interesting part...

If I connect an Outlook 2003 or Outlook 2000 client to my mailbox account
the message still contains the body text !

Every thing is OK in Outlook 2003 or Outlook 2000.

It's only when I view it using Outlook 2007.

Also when I reply to the messages with the missing body text it is missing
on the replies as well.

Outlook 2007 (SP1) fully patched, 'Office Diagnostics' give it all a green
light.

I've seen a few other people on the net with the same thing as well, so I
guess I'm not the only one.

Anyone any ideas ?

Alos for some time now I'm gettin ga message that Outlook wasn't closed
properly (even though it was) and Outlook want's to perform a data check on
the .pst file.

Again I appear to be able to find others experiencing the same problems, no
one seems to have found a complete solution as of yet. I'm just living with
it at the moment.

PC OS is Vista Business Edition SP1 and also have SEP 11.x installed.

Have removed SEP 11.x, made no difference at all.

Jim.

default font color. I also have a outlook 97 version here and there is no
text on those messages either. I have dissabled the e-mail screening on AVG

Any resolution on this? We have a somewhat similar problem.

Using Outlook 2007 SP1, Enterprise version.

When emails come into the Inbox they are fine. But in some
circumstances (not clear exactly why), when the same message is moved
to the user's .pst file on a different server the message body
disappears.

This also happens if there is a rule that automatically moves specific
emails to a folder in the .pst.

The emails aren't scanned for viruses on the local PC, but at the
Enterprise level, before going into the Inbox, so hard to see how that
could be the problem.

This has happened to just a few people in our environment, and so far
only seems to be resolved by creating a completely new .pst file and
moving everything over to it. Using the scanpst utility finds and
corrects lots of errors but still doesn't restore the message body.

Hi just wan share resolution on this case:

If you use outlook 2003 open the mail content no problem but not in outlook
2007 .. it could be due to the format of the html code of the message body is
having problem .. outlook 2007 using words 2007 to open the mail .. it cant
interpret the problematic content .. so it show blank .. outlook 2003 using
IE to open the mail so no problem encounter .. Why it happen ? mainly due to
ppl copy the picture paste it to message body .. and delete the picture.. it
some how change the format of the message body .. if you notice carefully the
font type is different as well.

Me also facing second scenario of blank message content , using outlook 2003
& 2007 also see blank email .. it was due to third party apps - Exclaimer .
so if you haappen using this apps .. you can try uninstall to further confirm
that . Disable will not work .

hope it help.

Guys ,

Just to share how we found the root cause .. hope it help:

1) If you using outlook 2003 open the mails no problem but not the outlook
2007 .

It mean the message content of the html code is having problem .. not the
standarc format.. that why outlook 2007 cant transalate it and give blank
message. Outlook 2007 use words 2007 open mails always. outlook 2003 use IE
as default. (you can choose words ) uncheck to try open the mails.

Normally it happen when users copy picture /words from webpage and paste to
the email .. it will change the format of the email messages.

2)If both outlook 2003 or 2007 open mails blank .

If you happen install 3rd party apps - Exclaimer . Please uninstall it and
test it again . Disable will not works. (Note it happen intermittently)
