When I move my mail messages from the inbox to another folder outlook
downloads the messages from the server into my inbox again.
How can I stop this?
Every time I clean my inbox outlook downloads 18,000 messages I have on the
server, you can imagine the mess that is.
thank you

I will assume your server is external (and you're not using (local)
Exchange Server).

If so, then maybe you have checked an option you shouldn't have,
namely...

Tools, Account Settings, select your account and select "Change", in
the "Change E-mail Account" dialog, click the "More Settings" button, in
the "Internet E-mail Settings" dialog click the Advanced tab, and near
the bottom do you have the "Leave a copy of messages on the server"
checked?

If so, uncheck it, 'cos that's your problem.

Thanks, I was hopping there was another solution so I could leave a copy on
the server for my Blackberry and to view in explorer.

It's kinda one or the other. If you leave 'em on the server, Outlook
will continue to pull 'em.

Perhaps you could use OWA to view/check your email instead?

Sorry, ignore my reply about OWA (brain not in gear). Server is ISP (or
other) and not Exchange Server.
