Outlook 2007 Desktop Link corrupt

My system crashed and I have now lost the link to Outlook 2007 via the
Desktop Icon. The icon is there but the shortcut properties are blank. I have
created a shortcut from outlook.exe but how can I recreate the original link?
I have tried "repair" but that has found no problems.

You tried running the Diagnostics from the Help menu in Outlook and then ran
the Setup Diagnostic and that didn't help? If not, you can try the
instructions in this article, but make sure you back up your original
registry before you make any changes, and if you are really not comfortable
editing registry entries then you're best off not attempting this at all.
Also, this article was written for Outlook 2003; I don't know whether it
works for Outlook 2007 or not, and you don't say what version of Windows
you're running (not sure if it makes a difference).
