Outlook 2003

I am having trouble reading email messages that are sent by people still
using outlook express 5.

When I receive the message it appears in the autopreview section of the
email list, but not in the preview pane. When I double click on the message
to read it the body of the email is also shown blank. If i export my emails
and view them with another email application I can read the full email.

Have you tried setting the email settings to Plain Text ? That should let
the old format come thru OK. In thee HTML mode, I am not sure what you could
do. Some users mail (oe 5) comes thru and its fine, others its similar to
your problem. I try to bug the person to upgrade..

Nope, that doesnt work. Unfortunatley getting people to upgrade their email
software isnt an option as most of them are non computer users, and either
cant or wont because it means something will change!
If I dont find a solution I will have to scrap outlook 2003 and go back to
98

Ha I well know about trying to get non computer people to change, especially
email software. I will check some of my old emails as I remember this coming
up about a year ago and there was a trick that worked on these. Sorry mine
did not. If I find it, I will post it back here and add ATTN:Alistair
