Outlook 2003 trying to sync with no exchange server

I seem to have a problem in that Outlook 2003 is trying to sync folders
somewhere, even thou I don't have MS Exchange on the network.

Is there a way to turn this feature off?

Do you mean the 'sync' icon in the toolbar?
If so that's simply OL polling (send/receive) for mail using the polling
interval you set (not less than 10 mins)

No down near the clock, it says syncronizing folders and no email gets sent.
(It will eventually fix it self, but it takes a few days!

Any idea's?

That's OL syncing with your mail provider. ie a send/receive
If mail isnt being sent, thats another issue.
