I recently installed the Windows XP Service Pack 2 and now every time I start
up Windows, Outlook 2003 automatically starts. I have check the menus in
Outlook and Outlook is not in my Startup folder in the Start menu. Does
anyone know how I disable Outlook 2003 from starting up when Windows XP
starts?

Hi Eric.I had to deal with the same problems yesterday and spent 1 full hour
on the phone to microsoft. It is now sorted! You need to go into run and
msconfig. On the list under the startup tab there will be a programme that is
causing the problem. I cannot remember which one I removed but we did it by
trail and error....removing one programme and rebooting. It does take time
but works. Most of the programmes say HKLM software but the one I removed
said SOFTWARE instead of the HKLM. Hope this helps

Thank you very much for your reply Dave. This solved my problem and is
something I may have never thought of trying. For my machine, I had to
disable 'Hcontrol' at startup and now everything works as I hoped would be
the case when I originally installed SP2. Again, thanks a bunch for the
reply.
