stop Outlook from starting with Windows XP

I have read several postings here and tried the solutions to prevent Outlook
from starting with Windows XP but I cannot find a way to stop it.
Two years ago I set up Outlook to start with Windows, I don't remember how I
did it but I used a help file to accomplish it. Now I want to disable this
and cannot see how to do so.
I have a desktop Sony VAIO running Windows XP and Office 2003, there is no
shortcut in the Startup folder for Outlook, there is no hcontrol anywhere on
my computer that I can find, there is no ATK0100 in the C:\WINDOWS folder, I
have configured folders to show hidden files and folders, I have used Run,
msconfig, hide all Microsoft Services and then disable all on the Services
tab then on the Startup tab disabled all and Outlook still starts. I have
also looked in the registry per the 11/11/2005 entry from Brian Tillman and
couldn't find any auto-start for Outlook there. Can someone help me further,
please?
Thanks,
Crystal

Diane, Thank you for your reply. In a previous post you recommended changing
the default e-mail program to Outlook Express to see if at restart it starts
instead of Outlook. I did this and Outlook Express did not load at startup
but Outlook did. Does this mean it is not related to the BIOS? I am
presently looking through Sony's site for a BIOS update.
