We have encountered this with a couple of our clients. When replying to an
email received the original email text is blank. The headder is still there
but the text is missing. If we shut off word then when we reply the text is
there. This also happens when we forward the email. If uncheck word 2003 as
the editor it is fine.

This does not happen all the time. We can receive two emails from the same
external user and it reply's fine one time and the next it does not.

Anyone know of a fix? Thank you.

The answer lies in your question.
It might be an issue with word, however check these options.
Have you customized outlook with themes, check by making some changes.
swich to plain text or HTML
perform detect and repair for word.
check if word behave in a different way.

keeps us informed.

No customization
New profile, New Office install
Did a office 2003 repair
It will work if I switch off Word as the default editor but not when its the
default editor

Do you have any Word add-ins?

No add-ins
I even started outlook with /cleanclientrules /noextensions /nocustomize

but when I start it with /safe it does not have the issue.
