Outlook 2003: Reply message body of email missing

G

Guest

I find that when I view replies sent by webmail clients(not Outlook), some
information is missing from the body of the email.

Problem Description:

Outlook user can see the text of the original message, but not the text of
the reply.

Outlook user can see the text of the reply, but not the text of the original
message.

The reply is viewed in Outlook, with the text of the original message
missing.

The one fix is to setup your Outlook to use plain text only. This does not
help is you want to have links built into ones signature or mail. Is there a
permanent solution to this problem

Thanks for your help.[b

links in plain text do work, but it's also dependant on the client.

The problem relates to one of the mail servers involved. If it affects all
mail, it's probably your server.

Thanks Diane,

But as I have been looking into it, this seems to be an issue with Outlook
alone and not a server issue. A good example of this happened yesterday. A
user replied back to me. In "AutoPreview" I could see the users reply but in
the main Reading Pane it was not there. Outlook seems to be able to see it on
one level but not another. Any ideas?

Thanks

you'll need to look at the source - the autopreview is only plain text
information and may contain different information from the message body you
see in preview. (It's a fav spammers trick.)
