Outlook 2003 Outbox problem

M

Mike E.

Running Office Pro 2003. Messages will go to the Outbox
and will not send. Nothing large in file size. when I
go to the Outbox the message is not in italics and has no
date in the send column. If I open the message in Outbox
and send again, same thing occurs. The only way I have
gotten a message to go is to "forward" it from the
Outbox. When I do this it creates a duplicate message
below the one that didn't send. If I click send, the
message is sent. If I open the message and add to it and
hit send, it will not go. It goes back to the Outbox
with no italics and no date in the send column. To send
this message I have to forward it from the outbox.

Any ideas before I totally uninstall Office 2003 and
reinstall Office XP Pro (2002)...at least IT worked.

Stuck and frustrated...

I have the identical problem. I have even reformatted my
harddisk. Please help before I am fired as I have to
send, all of which are pending

I'm like you...looking for help. I have posted this
several times with no reply thus far. If I get a reply
to my post or figure out what it is I'll let you know.
In the meantime, you should be able to send those
messages from the outbox by right-clicking on the message
and do "forward"...then "send". The message should be
sent and go to your "sent" box, if you're set up that way.
The message (original) you just forwarded will still be
in the Outbox. Make sure it is in the "Sent" folder
first, then delete the duplicate message (the one that
wouldn't go) in the Outbox. I have NO idea why Outlook
is doing what it is doing....Good Luck !

I have a client who started this problem today, he does not have send
immediately when connected enabled, but when he does the problem is a little
better, it seems random as to when Outlook is going to refuse to send an
email. As others have pointed out sometimes when you go to send an email,
the 'sent' email is stuck in the outbox, not in italics, pressing send will
not send it, the 'sent date' is set to none and the only way to get the mail
sent is to forward it.

In case it is related, a couple of days ago, I have installed Norton
Internet Security Pro 2004 with Norton AV Pro 2004, I'm sort of expecting
there to be a link, but at the moment I am at a loss and have a very pissed
off client.

PS. I am now able to fully replicate the problem on my own set up, again
with Norton 2004 installed, I am wondering if it has anything to do with
Outlook, the Norton Antispam pluggin or indeed the positions of the planets.
AHHHHH! please help.....
