Outlook 2003 Not Connecting To Exchange 2000

Christopher

Hi,

We get emails through Exchange 2000 and have a user
connecting using Outlook 2003. They are running in 'Cached
Exchange Mode' and they suddenly stopped getting emails.
When they do a manual Send/Receive, it takes forever and
doesn't receive the emails. When they go to webmail, they
are getting their mail so it isn't the server. They are
also getting mails from other accounts setup on Outlook
(i.e. POP3). We tried to uninstall and reinstall Office
twice. We tried to delete the account and recreate it. We
also deleted the .ost files from the system and tried from
scratch there. I tried the articles about RPC and I can
ping the Exchange server as well as connect through
Windows Explorer. It is still giving the error that it
cannot connect to the Exchange server. Any ideas?

Thanks,
Christopher

Try putting an entry in the hosts file mapping the
exchange server for this client and see if that works, if
it does you have a dns issue.

I did that and it didn't work. I am able to do a nslookup
and see the server and IP address. Also, I am able to
browse the Exchange server from this machine.
