outlook 2003 faxing

I am trying to figure out how to fax from outlook 2003
and it tells me I have to have Microsoft word set as my
email editor. So I ask the office assistant about my
email editor and it explains how I can turn it on and
off. So I go to turn on word as my editor and it is
grayed out. I don't have that option of turning it on. I
can't find a solution. How do I do get Microsoft Word set
as my email editor, how to I get it so it isn't grayed
out?

There is no need to have Word as your editor to fax from Outlook.
Which fax software were you trying to use?

I am not using a particular software, is there a specific
one I should be using in order for this to work?

Outlook 2003 only integrates with Windows 2000 Personal Fax and Windows XP
Fax in standalone environments.
