Outlook 2003 email stuck in outbox;cannot cancel message error.

Hello,
When sending emails to a large distribution list the email gets stuck in Outbox. Error encountered is " 0x800ccc60 outlook cannot cancel message". The email gets delivered many times to receipient. This does not happen for smaller lists.

We are using Outlook 2003 with a few plugins. Microsoft ActiveSync, AVG Email scanner.
