Mail "stuck" in outbox??

Outlook 2003

I have a piece of email stuck in my outbox and can't get rid of it. The
email shows in bold, black, italics in the Outbox. This email was actually
sent three days ago. Do did go out fine, it was received okay. When I
right click on it and chose delete I will either get no error message (it
just doesn't delete it) or get an error message that it cannot be deleted
because it is in the process of sending it. Sometimes when I send another
email it get stuck in the outbox also but if I close & reopen Outlook it
will go out okay (the original problem email stays in the outbox however.

Help please.

PS I tired running Detect & Repair, that didn't help.
