Outlook 2003 - duplicate emails received

I'm receiving 2 copies of most of my emails using Outlook 2003. The
duplicate copy is being retrieved at the same time as the original, so it's
not as though the original is left on the server to be downloaded again at
the next send/receive request.

Any help would be much appreciated.

Might be caused by anti virus app. if you have intergrated it into outlook

I use Norton Internet Security - haven't knowingly integrated it into
anything but how would I check that?

Since only 'most' are affected, do both copies remain in the inbox or do you
have rules moving the messages?

Yes the copies remain in the inbox. I've checked and I don't have any rules
set up to do anything. When I say 'most', I've had 3 out of 31 in the last
24 hours that weren't affected - all the others have had duplicates. Nothing
seems to connect those 3 - most of my emails are spam.

Since only 'most' are affected, do both copies remain in the inbox or do you
have rules moving the messages?

Actually I've just checked and those 3 are to different email addresses. I
have 2 work ones that differ only by the prefix - myname@address and
info@address - the one with my name is getting the duplicates but the info
one isn't. Neither is my personal email address. Does this simplify things
or not??

Within NIS, its one of the options

I wouldn't say it simplifies things but is should make it easier to figure
out.

I'm assuming you mean myname has duplicates of all messages sent to myname,
not that myname is getting copies of info's messages. If my assumption is
wrong, info is forwarding copies to myname.

Do you have web access so you can verify the messages aren't duplicated on
the server?

server - it's hosted by a third party (though I could contact them), but up
until yesterday I was using a different email program (InfoSelect) and that
never received duplicate messages, so I'm assuming the problem is with
outlook, not with the server.

Yes, myname has both the original and the duplicate. Can't get onto the
