Outlook 2000 can't switch between 2 Profiles

hello,
I've installed ms outlook 2000 on a client pc, set it up with 2 profiles,
one for internal company email thru our exchange server, and 1 profile for
external email that is through a local isp in town. I have it set up to ask
which profile to use when opening, and it usually will give a drop down
choice between the 2 profiles. However, recently what will happen is that all
of a sudden when closing out of outlook and going back in to change to the
external email profile, it will not give that option, and automatically open
up the internal email. i will have to log off, log in to be able to use the
external email profile. I have already tried uninstalling, reinstalling both
outlook 2000 and the entire ms office 2000 suite, i also removed the
registrys, even deleted the profile and pst files for the external email
profile, and it is still happening. Does anyone have any ideas on what i
might try next, not sure if there's a file sticking around casusing all this,
or if it's the profile that's the problem, what to do next? please help.
thanks.

This is a symptom of Outlook not actually closing when you exit. Use Task
Manager to see if an instance of OUTLOOK.EXE remains running on the system
when you close Outlook. If so, that's the problem and possible solutions
