Outlook 2000 Attachments

Occasionaly, when I send file attachments to Outlook emails, the receiver
finds the files have been assigned an extension .dat
The problem seems random and is not limited to any one type of attachment.
It has happened with .jpg, .xls, .doc, etc
Most times the attachments are received correctly. Any suggestions?

Are u using Rich Text Format(RTF)?, use HTML or Plain Text and try

Hi David,
if you are sending in rich text format, change it to text or html and try
again!
