"Out of range" monitor error, need a driver

Hi people! This is my first time posting here.

I have a problem with my monitor. When I try to run some programs,
specifically Xpand Rally Demo, the game does start up because I can hear it
but I can't actually see it on my monitor. An "out of range" message appears
stating that the game is running at 85 hertz; my monitor only supports 60-75
hertz.

Now this is the interesting part. The reason i'm not telling you anything
specific is because I already know that the problem came from me updating the
monitor drivers to see if I would get a better driver, but it backfired. I'm
now stuck running the Deafult driver instead of the Plug & Play driver and I
cant revert it. All I really need is a monitor driver that works on most
monitors and will keep my monitor from going into refresh rates other than
60-75hz. If you have a monitor driver specifically for a 17'' LCD monitor
it'd help.

I have already stated that I cant revert it as in roll back the driver. I
would've used System Restore by now if I hadnt earased my system restore
points through Disk Cleanup. Honestly, I thought I was never going to need
them so I got rid of them.

Now, as I already stated, all I really need is a monitor driver that works
on most monitors and will keep my monitor from going into refresh rates other
than 60-75hz. If you have a monitor driver specifically for a 17'' LCD

I've gone everywhere and it took me this long to realize that nobody ever
reads my posts right (even if they dont know me) .

Your monitor's front control buttons won't allow you to adjust
your refresh rate (say, from 85 Hz to 60 Hz)? My previous 17"
monitor and my new 19" monitor allow me to adjust a wide range
of settings, including refresh rate.

I take your problem to be one of invalid settings, as opposed to one of
using a bad driver. Uninstall your graphics device, then boot using
SAFE MODE and install the appropriate driver, making sure Resolution
and Refresh Rate are set correctly. Reboot.
