Out-of-Office auto reply sent only once?

Hi everybody,

I am using Outlook2K3 and Ex2K7 sp1. I want to use the Out-of-Office auto reply function in OUtlook for a vacation. I know that I can configure that in OWA.

But I want to reply with an OOF message to every email instead of just sending one such reply to one person and won't send the second time.
It seems that this is the Microsoft default but can it be changed?

BTW, heard that after turning on the OOF, I must keep the outlook running, but it is not feasible at all since I need to leave for a long time and don't want to keep the computer powered on and might let others use it! Would any body have this experience?

Thx!!!

If the Exchange server is your delivery location, then you will not have to
leave Outlook running.
