Are you attempting to send your Word documents using the newer .docx file
format in Office 2007? If so, you have two options:

1.) Save the file in the older .doc file format (you should be able to set
this as the default for new files) or

2.) Instruct each of your recipients to download and install the converters
required for opening .docx, .xlsx, etc. type files. That's about a 25 MB
download, so these folks may not be too happy about that option, especially
if they have slow internet connections and/or lack administrative privileges
to install the converter.

Thank you Tom, They are telling me that it is asking them to download
something. Can you walk me through setting it up in the other format you
mention using it as a default. I have never done this and I am not familiar
with how to do it.
Thank you again so much!! Crystal

Tom I think I got it. I am waiting on replies from friends that I am testing
this on. If I did it then it was so simple to do. I will get back to you in a

Hi Crystal,

I'm glad to read of your success! Here is a link for the converter that I
mentioned earlier, which would allow folks with Office XP (2002) or Office
2003 to open files created in the new format with Office 2007 (covers Word,
Excel & PowerPoint, but not Access):
