I'm sure you'll all be completeley thrilled to know that I've spent all day
installing, then uninstalling and cleaning up, and then installing agin
internet security suites !!!

CA out
Panda in ...not happy with it, noticeably slowing the system little
Panda out
CA in ...won't go in properly ! ...seems like their server is offline !
CA out
Panda in
.....actually after every "out", there's a lot of rummaging with Norton
Windoctor, regedit, , after each reboot, to clean up before rebooting yet
again - to do an "in" :).
Panda out

....ZA free in, AVG free in, MS anti-spyware beta in ....I'm sure MS
anti-spyware beta collapsed ny Windows platform, the last time I tried it
but, it's really good !

....at last it's happy !! Why did I start in the first place ? ...this is
all because Norton got FAT !!! :)

LOL...regards, Richard

I went through that a couple of years ago. I abandoned Norton AV in 1996
and went with InnoculateIT, which became eTrust AV. eTrust worked great on
my Windows ME computer but the real-time scanner slowed considerably on the
NTFS system. I tried various AV and Anti-spyware products recommended in
this group for some time after that.

I've settled on Avast Home Edition for myself and my residential customers.
I also use the Microsoft Anti-Spyware. That's it.

I've played this game before too. Mainly when my antivirus expired, or
the trial version ended. But, I've also done it to test AV's out for
friends and other people. My theory was (and still is) that I can't
help them if I've never even seen the program before.

I've ended up with Avast also. And, I either use ZoneAlarm or Kerio for
my firewall (although I do have a license for Outpost firewall that's
still valid).

As for Antispyware, I have MAS running 24/7 (with their resident
features) and I also do periodic scans with both Ad-Aware SE and SpyBot
S&D.

hello,
It seems that you are a bit confused about internet secutity tools
performance. Since I am concerned go to www.kaspersky.com
You will see a download section. If you want you can try out the beta
section (coose kaspersky internet security). It really gives a fantastic
performance. It uses very less system resources and certainly it does not
lower you PC's performance.
If you have windows xp sp2 installed in your PC then Kaspersky Anti-virus
will suite you. Just try the software and you'll know its great
perfotrmanece. You'll really love the software!!!!
