[OT ghost9] Does partion location matter

Maybe a little ot on ghost9 but really the question is about
partitions of a disc. Somewhere I've gotten the notion that it caused
me a problem with a restore when I had been storing the images on a
partition of an IDE disk. I can't remember now the errors I got but
hoped someone would just know if its hooey or not.

Where I had the problem was running a restore from the ghost9 cd
environment. The stored Images were on disk1 (from zero) partition 1
(starting from zero). In other words it was a disk partitioned like:

C: 56 gb D: 177gb where C and D were really on one disk. C being
the sytem partition and D: a partition set aside for ghost images.
Should a setup like that cause any problems restoring from ghost cd
env?

Can't make heads or tails of your 2nd paragraph.

A partition restoration has to be made to free space on a physical hard
drive.

If you're trying to restore C:, since that's all you chose to divulge, that
partition should be deleted first before restoration. The source image
files in D: are needed for restoration purposes, therefore, it cannot be
deleted for restoring the D: partition.

If you're trying to convey some other problem, please provide more adequate
information. Write down the error message(s) on paper for instance, and
provide it here. Less cryptic, as in paragraph 2 of your post.

The provider of Ghost 9 is more likely able to provide the proper help, if
armed with the proper, adequate, and non-cryptic information.
