OT: DVI on monitors and cards

I am looking for a replacement 19" monitor (TFT), but unlike my curent model
(Acer AL712 17"), I don't see many deals on a 19" model with DVI support..
Is DVI still in fashion and popular, or have the manufacturers stopped
bothering with it so much? I really like my Acer 17", but I'm toying with
the idea of selling it on and getting a 19" model instead..... I am not sure
if the display is better with DVI than the standard analogue type
connection, as I have always used DVI with this screen. I would really
appreciate any comments on DVI vs Analogue and if its worth me sourcing a
new 19" with DVI, or if a standard analogue input would be just as good.
Just for info, I'm not into games, but do work on video and photographs very
regularly.

Any advice or pointers on getting a new screen would be appreciated. I
would also ideally like a beige colour monitor, although it wouldn't really
matter if it was silver, I would much rather like beige to tie in with the
rest of the setup. This again seems to be a problem now, as silver seems to
be the norm these days.

DVI connections yield a much better signal and image to the monitor.
