Oridinal 13 couldn't be located in dynamic link library iertutil.d

Good afternoon.

I am running Windows XP on IBM Thinkpad T20 laptop and recently automatic
updates upgraded existing IE6 to IE7. Ever since then whatever I try to
access (IE, WMP11, even Help Centre to try system restore!) I get the
following error message: -

(program name).exe
Ordinal Not Found
The ordinal 13 could not be located in the dynamic link library iertutil.dll

Could somebody tell me if there is a way round fixing this without having to
reinstall WinXP again? I have tried chkdsk which said it found an error, but
upon running chkdsk and restarting a couple of times this doesn't seem to
have fixed the problem.
Many thanks in advance for all you help.

Hi Nass. Many thanks for your help. Does this mean I have to uninstall IE7
then uninstall SP3 (if I have it; I will check when I get home over the
weekend) before I can install IE7 again? Also will the above uninstall and
reinstall help me to be able to correct the same errors I get when I try to
run WMP11, Help Centre, email, etc?

Thanks Nass. I will try to uninstall, cleanup and then reinstall over the
weekend.
Will let you know if it works!

Hi Nass. Thanks for all your help. uninstalled IE7, ran chkdsk repair & disc
cleanup, but instead of reinstalling IE7, installed IE8 Beta 2. All seems to
be ok now!
However, I don't appear to have SP3 only SP2 for WinXP. Is there any way I
can download WinXP SP3? I have looked on the downloads centre and can't seem
to locate it. If I can't get it yet then don't worry. As I say all is fine
now.
Many thanks again. Regards, Steve
