Opinion on barebone systems

Hey guys -

I would like to know your opinions about these systems. I'm getting ready
to build another computer but wanted to know your thoughts. I'm aware that
these don't come with an O/S and in some cases a CPU cooling fan and hard
drive.

The first thing to do would be to tell us what do you want to do with this
new system and what are your expectations.

I just built my first Intel in 15 years (was a AMD fan) and the one thing
you don't want to scrip on is the motherboard. future upgrades will all
center around it. of the ones listed I would go with the 775 its newer and
Intel has a large selection of CPU's that it supports. the 754 is already
dead and tops out at 3700. 939 better has a larger selection of processors
but the newts AMD chipset is AM2

An opinion is like an anus:
Everyone has one.
Everyone think that theirs does not stink.
Do your own research.

If you have nothing positive to say, then no need to respond. And FYI, I do
know a CPU is.

Obviously I've done a little research because if I didn't I wouldn't have
posted the links. I know I have an opinion but I wanted to know what you
guys thought of the systems I posted. In the end, I'm gonna make my own
decision. You guys need to start thinking before posting!

I couldn't find another place to post it so I thought it would fit in here.
Sorry if it's the wrong newsgroup. I'm planning to install XP on it though.

You might want to try alt.comp.hardware.homebuilt. Lots of guys doing
what you want to do.

Don't say crap about the power supply, and nowhere to look for such info.
450 Watts means absolutely nothing. Has a cpu fan. There goes irq 6 for a
useless floppy drive. Except for the F6 thing in an XP installation, what a
waste. Not many molex connectors for power that I can see, bad sign. I
wouldn't buy it.

DDR? What happened to DDR2? Cheap b-stards couldn't provide a cpu cooling
fan. SIS your system to bluescreens. Older SATA. Junk.

Still concerned about the power supply. Eradicate the floppy port in the
bios. Slower SATA. Sell the game on Ebay. You're good to go. Buy it.
