Opening Outlook also opens Word

- Eli Luong -

I'm looking at the processes listed in Task Manager and I notice that when I
load Outlook (outlook.exe), it also ends up loading winword.exe, so this
consumes more resources. I was wondering if there was any way to avoid this,
because I'm currently using Outlook Express mainly for my email but would
like to use the calendar present in Outlook.

Thank you,
- Eli

When composing emails with Outlook, you are choosing to use Word as your
email editor/composer. If you do not want to use Word as your email editor,
you should be able to change it in Outlook Options, email options.
Personally, I prefer to use Word as my Outlook email editor program, but you
can also use plain text to reduce your resource consumption.
