opening microsoft office outlook

when I click on microsoft office outlook it starts and gives an error message
saying that a file was not closed properly. It does a check and opens up
another window/copy of outlook. I doesn't matter which one I then try to
close - they both close. How do I make it so I only get 1 outlook open?
Also when I do close I make sure all teh emails etc are cloes and do file
Exit - why do I keep getting teh error message?

I have managed to cure the double opening of Outlook. On one window I right
clicked and that allowed me to close just that window leaving only one
version of Outlook open. I then shut the other one down. When I restarted
Outlook I only got the one copy. Hurrah!

Looking at the links you indicated I suspect the other problem comes from my
Palm tungsten E2 PDA which I synchonise with Outlook. It is only connected
when I actually perform the sync. But maybe this is why I get the error
message "the data file Personal folders was not closed properly". Although
it is irritating to keep getting the error message it doesn't seem to affect
anything once the system has checked itself
