Opening files transfered from old computer

I have a new Dell computer with Windows XP. My old
computer had Windows 95. Ihave transfered some spread
sheets from my old computer to my new computer by cable
connection. The spread sheets were setup using windows
works. How can I open these files on my new computer?

Place the files where desired-desktop,then R. click the file,select,open with
Microsoft works,runs on xp,you could install that software to open it,otherwis
notepad should work.

Purchase and install a copy of Works on the new computer, as well.
