opening a second web browser

I am running Windows XP I have Internet Explorer v6.0. For some reason after
running Registry mechanic v5.10, I am no longer able to open a second
browser. I always just overwrite the window I am viewing, even if I right
click and select open in new window ?
Anyone have any ideas ?

Have you tried this?
Tools-Internet Options-Advanced.
Uncheck "Reuse windows for launching shortcuts"

Yea alan, I have tried this after reading a posting from someone else who has
the opposite problem and was advised to try clicking this reuse option.
I now have it deselected but same problem exists.
If I open up my computer, I am able to use this second browser and enter a
web address into the address bar, but opening internet explorer from my start
menu will also over write this ???

Hi,
Registry Mechanic may not be the guilty party. ;-)

You may have a toolbar or program running which is blocking pop-up windows-
something like Yahoo toolbar, Google toolbar, MSN toolbar, etc.
The Yahoo toolbar is notorious for causing this. Uninstalling the Yahoo
toolbar should allow a second window to open.

If you're sure that another program isn't causing this, these links should
help.
