Opening 2003 files in PPT 2000

I needed to "Compare and Merge" two presentations that were sent to me, but I
only have PPT 2000 on my machine. I was able to track down a machine with
PPT 2003, and so I was able to merge the presentations, but now I have a new
question--can I open the "merged" presentation, with the list of
modifications, in PowerPoint 2000? Any help would be appreciated. thanks

Hello Tom,
Newer features are rarely backward compatible. The feature sets you
mentioned were introduced in PPT 2002 only. You should be able to open the
presentation in 2000 but you will lose out on the features of later
versions.
