open with Textpad

Hello,
I have inherited an XP PC. It has textpad installed - which is nice
to use..

But when I right click on a file I get a list:
Open
new
print
Open with ->
TextPad
Send To ->
....
Properties

I can hit Open With and I can select Textpad from a drop down list in
the normal way, and it works OK

But when I hit TextPad which appears in the right click list between
Open-> with and Send to ->
nothing happens.

I dont know how this right click menu is set up - and I want to right
click and hit "Text Pad" and it to work - I dont want something
broken...
Can someone point me in the right direction plz?

TIA

Ton

Download the newest version of Textpad, uninstall the old one and
install the new. See if that doesn't fix the registry settings.

Hello,

Try this:
Start Textpad > Configure > Preferences > UNCHECK context menu > OK >
Configure > Preferences > CHECK context menu > OK

Tried un- and re- ticking the context menu <so thats where the right
click menu is setup> so thing it no work.
Then I un- and re- installed tetxpad itself.
