"open with" on all my drives

I recently changed some icons, and now, whenever I click on one of my drives
(cd or hard drives), it gives me an "open with" page. I highlight Internet
Explorer, but the "always use this option" is grayed out. So now, every time
I want to open a drive through my computer, I have to choose internet
explorer to do it.

How do I make it so the default open program for my drives is internet
explorer?

Thanks!

Why would you want to open your drives with Internet Explorer? Internet
Explorer is your browser, the software that allows you to see the
Internet graphically. You want to to use Windows Explorer - the
graphical user interface - which is explorer.exe. I'm not sure why
"changed some icons" would do this, but perhaps you did a bit more
"tweaking" than just changing some icons. The easiest way to fix this,
since we're really not sure what you did, is to do a System Restore to
before you did whatever you did.

I solved the problem of opening up the drive in windows 'intenet' explorer by
adding an "open" command, then explorer.exe to the folder options/file types/
'drives' / advanced tab, but now it's opening in another window. Is there a
way to make it open in the same window, like explorer.exe/open or something?

Thanks

Go to Start/Run and type in: regsvr32 /i shell32

If that doesn't correct the issue (and it should) use this automated edit:

Search or CMD Opens When Double Clicking a Folder or Drive (Line 18)
http://www.kellys-korner-xp.com/xp_tweaks.htm

To use the VBS File: Download .vbs file and save it to your hard drive (you
may want to right click and use Save Target As). Double-click the vbs file.
You will be prompted when the script is done.

You don't need to associate "Drive" with IE. If a system restore rollback does not help, try this command from Start/Run:

regsvr32 /i shell32.dll

If the problem persist, download the folder association fix from here:
