Open, Save and Save as... shortcuts

E

erics

When opening, saving or saving as a document, most apps
tend to default to last saved state. I find this to be
anoying. Is there a way to add a shortcut to the left
side panel of the MS dialogue box? The one where the
basic shortcuts are such as MyComputer, Desktop etc..
I know I can use the Recent Documents list but sometimes
my most recent directory dont show up there.
Basically I would like to add my own shortcuts to the
Look in bar (left of window).
Thanks!

Erics,

For Office XP Places Bar, see the reply from purplehaz. If you are referring to Common Dialog Open/Save As box, read below:

You can add Places using TweakUI or manually edit the registry here:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\comdlg32\ the PlacesBar subkey.
In PlacesBar, create the REG_DWORD values Place0, Place1, Place2, Place3, and Place4.

TweakUI v2.00 for Windows XP/XP MCE [564 KB].
