open in new window nolonger works

Something has caused "Open in New Window" to stop working
properly. Only an empty box appears, untill I hit Stop.
Then the window shows properly with the destination url
in the address bar. Pressing Refresh then causes the page
to load properly. Using esc followed by F5 also works.
Whats causing this and how do i fix it?

I have had this exact problem for months and tried to no
avail everything suggested on this and other forums (at
least I thoght I had).

Anyway, I just tried all your tips just once more before
giving up for good and SUCCESS! What did it was
extracting oleaut32.dll from the original CD.
