im trying to host an internet game 'blitzkrieg' and although the process
appears to go ok the
hosted game cannot be seen by other users in the 'join game' menus.

the game uses 'gamespy' as it host system and the menus system for accessing
gamespy is built into the game.

i can join other users games ok.

they can also see my username listed within the users online menu.

its just my hosted game is not seen therefore no one ever joins.

im running win xp home.
have a alcatel speedtouch usb modem (dsl latest drivers)
win xp is patched to the latest and so is direct X.
win XP firewall is disabled.

Hi Lord Lucan,

It's possible that the Alcatel is blocking you as some models
have a built in port based firewall (NAT) which the provider
of the unit can help you configure. If that is not the case it
is possible that your Internet provider prevents you from
acting as a server for the game(s). If you know the opponents
look in your documentation for a way that they can specify
the IP address of your server and that way you can maybe
avoid the Gamespy system entirely. I hope this advice helps!
