one of your disks needs to be checked?

J

js

I often get the error message when I boot up:

"One of your disks needs to be checked for consistency"
"CHKDSK is verifying files ... deleting corrupt attribute record from the
file record segment...

I thought this must be due to a faulty hard drive, so I installed a new one,
but I still get this message - about every few weeks.

What does this mean and what should I do?
thanks,

usually that you've not shut your pc down properly and jsut turned it
off / reset it. Could also be due to a faulty disk if its doing it a lot...

Hello,

Thanks for your posting here.

The problem can occur if there is some third-party software causing system
shutdown not properly. I would like to recommend that you run msconfig.exe
to disable Startup Group and Third party services on the Windows XP
computer. What is the result?

You can refer to the following document for more information:

Have a nice day!
