Hi,
I have a unique request from one of my users which I cannot figure this out.
Here's a scoop...
I created a new account for John Wayne on an Exchange Server 2003.
His email address is (e-mail address removed). He requests to have an additional
smtp created which is (e-mail address removed). No problem.
Here's what he would like...
Any emails sent to (e-mail address removed) would go to the Inbox.
And any email sent to (e-mail address removed) would go to a specified folder.
What i have done so far:
I created a new folder called 'JohnWayne' within the Inbox directory then I
created rule. Under 'with specific words in the the Recipient's address' I
specified, '(e-mail address removed)' or 'john.wayne' then i specify to move to
JohnWayne folder.
Result of my Test:
When I sent the emails internally, my rule would work just fine. That is,
email sent to (e-mail address removed) would go straight to the Inbox. Any email
sent to (e-mail address removed) would to the specified folder called JohnWayne.
Great! That's what we want.
HOWEVER,
When i sent an email from my external accounts (Yahoo, Hotmail, Gmail), it
doesn't matter whether I write to (e-mail address removed) or
(e-mail address removed), all emails would just go to the Inbox.
Questions:
1) How would I configure it so that this would work no matter where i send
the emails from?
2) Even if it seems to work internally, it works only when Outlooks is open.
How would i configure so it works all the time even if Outlook is closed?
I believe rule should take care of this issue BUT... Did I misconfigure it
somewhere?
I thank you in advance for your time and consideration.
Have a nice day.
