Onboard Sound Card Not Working After Loading Of Win XP

HELP, after purchase of Windows XP and installing it. My
onboard sound card is not working. Is there a download
fix for this any where. What good is a operating system
with out sound. My MIDI was for Win 98, a CMI8338 MPU-
401. Any one who may know of a fix for this please contact
me.
