On publishing my web the status of my index.htm states conflict

I'm using Front Page 2002. When trying to publish my web aftermaking changes
in several pages the status of my index.htm states "conflict". All of the
other pages read "publish" or "up to Date". If I try to publish the
index.htm, the changes I made to this page do not show up on my site.

Does you local and remote have the same home page file names?
- check w your host which you should be using (index.htm vs index.html or default)
