old xp pro harddrive to a new computer

hey guys and gals,

i hope somebody can help. i have an old HDD with xp pro on it with the data
that i need. the old computer fried and all i have left is the HDD. i want to
transfer only the data not the OS to the new computer running XP Home. i have
plugged the old HDD into the new computer as a slave and it is shown as D: .
i open the drive and i can see the program files, documents and settings
etc... . when i go into the documents and settings, to the folder i need it
shows up as empty folder and i know there is data in this folder(and i really
need it). any suggestions???

You probably don't have the hidden directory files turned on. Go to
folder options in Control Panel, and click the View tab. Go down to
the hidden files and folders and click on Show Hidden File and
Folders.
