Old Printer/Scanner STILL shows up!

S

SirMatthew

I am trying to use Microsoft Document Scanning to scan documents BUT a
non-existent printer/scanner an old HP, which has been uninstalled, still
shows up when I try to scan. And, I cannot get my new one to show up at all!
I've contacted Canon about the new one, but, how do I get rid of this HP
POS? I can find NOTHING, after 1,000 Google searches, that helps me with
this problem.

Thanks in advance for any help!

Because Microsoft Office Document Scanning is part of MS Office, you
might get more help in the Office General Questions newsgroup:

Web Interface
http://www.microsoft.com/office/com...dg=microsoft.public.office.misc&lang=en&cr=US
Newsreader:
msnews.microsoft.com/microsoft.public.office.misc

Did you see this (yes, I know it's for Vista, but the same principles
apply to XP):
http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows-vista/Add-or-remove-a-scanner

Did you *also* use "Add or Remove Programs" to uninstall the related HP
software?

Exactly *how* did you go about uninstalling the old scanner? Did you get
any error messages? Please post them verbatim.

Where does the old scanner "show up"?

check your %windir%/TWAIN_32 folder for some old HP scanner files.
