Old Print Document Queued in Spoolsv.exe

Old document queued in Spoolsv.exe causing spoolsv.exe to run 98-100% CPU.
Cannot clear spoolsv.exe, or delete document nor can I delete printer that
initiated the print request.

How can I clear and free up the Spoolsv.exe?

I'm running Windows XP, and use a HP "All-in-one" injet printer.

Stop the Print Spooler service, clear the file from the print queue and
reboot.

Open Services...
Start | Run | Type: services.msc | Click OK |
Scroll down to and double click Print Spooler |
Click the Stop button | When the service stops, click OK |
Close Services

Open the printer by double clicking the icon by the clock or
Start\Settings\Printers and Faxes\Printer name.
Highlight the document, click the Document menu and click Cancel.

Reboot.

Wesley:

Thank you for the information you sent. I apologize for not getting back to
you sooner, but the weekend (with Mother's day) got in the way.

Although these procedures did not solve my problem it was an easy way to
eliminate these items as the source of why the spooler was "queued" with a
non-existent document.

I did find a solution using Bruce Sanders "How to Cleanup Printer Drivers"
procedure found at: http://members.shaw.ca/bsanders/CleanPrinterDrivers.htm
It was a detailed, and exacting process that I would not normally go to, but
I was at my wits end and decided to take a chance.

Again, thank you for your information.

Well, I never would have suspected screwed up printer dirvers.

Glad you got it worked out. And thank you for the link. ;-)
