old folders/messages missing after upgrade to 2007

I recently upgraded from 2003 to 2007 and now all of my old messages and
folders are gone. I can't find them anywhere on my computer. Am I correct
in the thinking that everything got overwritten and I am screwed? At least I
had my contacts backed up on Plaxo.

Upgrade installations are not recommended with Outlook. Doing so never
deletes any data however. Your previous data file is still there. If you
search for Outlook data files (*.pst) you will find it. Outlook Data files
are hidden.

Thanks for the input. I search my computer and never found a single pst
file - that is until I re-booted for the second time and then everything was
back to normal. I guess I freaked out for nothing!
