When I am typing in an email address in Outlook; a list of similar names
appears.
I can't delete from the list.
I can't find where the addresses are stored.
They aren't under Contacts.

Of course you can delete from the list.

No. Versions of Outlook earlier than Outlook 2002 have no autocompletion
feature. They have a feature called auto-resolution. If you enter part of a
name or a nickname then tab out of the field (or hit Alt-K [Check Names]),
Outlook will attempt to resolve the name against your address book. If it
can't it'll red underline it and you can right click on the name to manually
resolve it. Outlook will save the resolution for future use. That data is
stored in a file with a NICK extension.

My mother is complaining that deleted email addresses keep showing up in her
mail. I remember noticing it in my mail before and just not worrying about
it. Besides upgrading brought "new" things for me to worry about. However,
with her failing eyesight, I just wondered if there was an easy fix.

Should I search for that "nick" extension? is it a three or four letter
extension? would deleting or renaming it resolve the issue for now?
