OL2003: Missing Send Button (when switching off Word 2003 as editor)

Hi Group,

I have a newly installed Outlook 2003 I try to customize to my linking,
and when I switched off the "Use Word 2003 as message editor" (or
whatever it might be called in English, I have a localized version),
the "Send" button in new messages disappeared. And it came back when I
re-activated Word 2003 as editor.

Problem is, I really don't want Word to be the editor. What can I do?
(The main reason I don't want Word is it will show all those macro
toolbars from Word that are of no use in my mailer. And if I switch
them off, they keep coming back, just like the stupid "Attach as Adobe
PDF" toolbar.)

BTW: I have no use for a word processor as editor anyway (I write plain
text messages only). How can I change this to my favorite text editor?

TIA
Alex

Have you tried using View | Toolbars | Customize to reset the Menu Bar in the Outlook editor?

Addendum: I had to reset the toolbars in the main program, it was
greyed out in the editor window.

Oh, and does anyone have any ideas wrt changing the editor completely?
