OL2003: Lost my tray icon (no rules used)

Ed

When we switched to OL2003, I turned off the ghost alert but left the Tray
Icon checked in my preferences. I didn't want to have this ghost thing pop
up randomly - I'd rather just notice the envelope in the Tray. I'm not
using any rules - everything goes straight to my Inbox. But I've noticed I
am not seeing the envelope icon any more, even though the box is still
checked. Where should I check to see about restoring this?

Okay - we'll give that a try and see if it works. Thanks.

Bingo! ~BUT~ - up to a few days ago, it _was_ showing on the unexpanded
area. All of a sudden it's an "unused icon" to be hidden??!? Makes no
sense to me! But keeping the Area expanded takes up way too much room, so I
guess I'll have to look more into the "new and improved" notification.

Thanks for your help.

Simply set the icon properties to always show as instructed in the link.

If you had an unread mail and didn't go to Outlook to read it in a few hours
it will hide since you're not using it.
