Okay, I SWEAR..

Editing any FP theme .css file does not stick in FP
- FP will reread the original .css from the compacted theme .elm file whenever you recalculate hyperlinks or open / apply the theme
Always edit the theme in FP, not it's .css files

Be that as it may, it's still not addressing the right question. The
fact that the navbar is still showing Comic Sans suggests that the OP
has possibly edited part of the theme but either not all of it, or not
the right part.

Depends
If the OP is editing the CSS files, that is the reason the changes are not "sticking"

True, although I had the idea all along that she was editing the theme
using FP dialogs. Either way, I'd guess she changed one style but not
the others. Might be worth pursuing that course as a first resort.

I've done this kinda change a lot in FP2002, I tried it with FP2003 over the
weekend to see if the process is different and I encounter the same
issue...couldn't get the font to change. I must be missing somthing too.

Well, I'm glad I'm not the only one who can't get it to work! And yes, I'm
editing the theme using the FP dialogue boxes for customizing theme. It's
making me crazy. Everyone suggested that it was so simple but I just cannot
get rid of that Comic Sans.

Is Comic Sans only showing on your computer or everyone that view your site?

I did get it to work, it's only a tad different from FP02...only because of
where the buttons appear nothing really that different.

She is trying to change the nav button images, for which the font selected becomes a .gif of whatever font

Ok
Understand you are trying to change vertical nav button font
- Normally done w/ Format Theme Customize Graphics
(Font tab and select Vertical Navigation)
Make sure you are changing it in the Graphics version of the theme you are using
(Active or Normal - better still both)
Then save as new theme name, remove your old theme from all pages and apply the new theme name, (including the Active or Normal
Graphics option) to all pages
- Helps to open Nav view and change anything, then run a Tools Recalculate Hyperlinks and then select a file to Preview in Browser
to verify your changes

If the changes do not take somehow your _overlay (gif image of the font) and/or _derived files (gif image of the theme button w/
_overlay merged) are corrupt or not being published

Try deleting all files in all _overlay folders
To see them us Tools Site Settings Advanced - show hidden files
(while there also select Delete Temp Files - to clear any corrupt web cache info)

After that running a Tools Recalculate Hyperlinks FP should recreate new _overlay and _derived files

Deleting the overlay files didn't help. I can see the new font on my

According to http://www.barboconnor.com/_vti_inf.html you site has the FP SE

Open your online site in FP using File Open Site and entering the URL as
http://www.barboconnor.com/ and log in
Clear out any corrupt meta data for the Online site using Tools Site Setting Advanced - delete files
Apply the No Theme option to all pages as a default to all pages
Apply your new correct theme name as a default to all pages
Run a Tools Recalculate Hyperlinks and File Preview in browser to verify the correct theme is applied
Check View Reports - Shared Content - Themes to make sure all pages are using the correct new theme
Then Publish all back to your local PC to get them in sync

FYI
Your online pages are using the theme from
_themes/blondie4/ and the CSS file blon1011.css
With content="blondie4 1011
Means you are using a theme named blondie4 as 1011
The 1011 means:
1 CSS (a 0 would be w/o css - html)
0 Normal Colors (a 1 would be Vivid Colors)
1 Active Graphics (a 0 would be Normal graphics)
1 Background Picture (a 0 would be no Background Picture)

If those are not the settings you want change them in the Theme Options

And your vertical nav buttons are all using what appear to be older images, plus your server does not reveal any _overlay folder
files (which should be there too)

Your online CSS still has Comic Sans MS for all vert nav settings, plus a Georgia duplicate for .mstheme-vert-navtxt which shouldn't
be there

..mstheme-vert-navtxt-g
{font-family: Comic Sans MS;
..mstheme-vert-navtxt-gs
{font-family: Comic Sans MS;
..mstheme-vert-navtxt
{font-family: Comic Sans MS;
..mstheme-vert-navtxt
{font-family: Georgia;

vs. Californian FB only for set in some horizontal nav bars as
..mstheme-horiz-navtxt
{font-family: Californian FB;
..mstheme-horiz-navtxt-gs
{font-family: Comic Sans MS;

So somehow you are applying an older theme or the changes are not publishing correctly
