Offline File Synchronization

I cannot disable the offline file synchronization even
logged in as administrator. It is check marked and grayed
out so that I cannot make any changes to the settings.
How did it get turned on in the first place when I don't
use synchronization? Also, other computers in the
company have now been turned on and have the same
problem. I am the only administrator here and I did not
turn any offline file synch on on the server or
workstations. I've gone through all the knowledge base
and it tells me how to turn it off but with it grayed
out, I cannot follow those instructions. Help!

Running Win 2003 Server and XP on workstations. Also
using Office 2003 Pro version.

Do you have roaming profiles? If so, then it is turned on automatically, as
the profile has to resync each and everytime you log on/off to the domain.

No, none of the users on this computer are roaming
profiles. All are locals. This computer is hooked up to a
network and only 2 machines out of 15 are doing this. The
other machine started after I installed Office 2003 and
not before that. My machine came with 2003 on it and it
wasn't doing this until recently and I've had this
machine since March.

Any other ideas?
