When using the Offline Address Book with Outlook 2003 in cached mode,
changes made to the GAL are never reflected until I go into my profile
(Coucments and Settings\My ID\Local Settings\Application
Data\Microsoft\Outlook) and delete all of the .OAB files and then use Tools,
Send/Receive and then Download Address Book to rebuild them.
Here is an example:
A user has an alias on another mail system that is listed as an address
(along with her normal Exchange address). I remove that alias, run the
download of the Offline Address Book, but the alias still stays, even though
it was deleted from her Exchange account. Deleting the OAB files and
rebuilding is the only way to fix it that I have found.
I have looked at a bunch of articles on MS Knowledgebases and newsgroups,
but no solution that works has been found.
Has anyone encountered and fixed this problem? Ken?
